Service - Met Sensors

    

 

In general, AADI recommends anually service/maintenance on MET-sensors to maintain well functioning sensors. Sensor recalibration is recommended every second year. Factory service is optional, but highly recommended.

Factory Service includes thorough testing, overhaul, and recalibration (not needed on all sensors).

Additional repair will be quoted on an individual basis.

Typical turn around time is 2-4 weeks depending on the work performed. If additional repair is performed, turn around time exceeding 4 weeks should be expected.

Vented Pressure Sensor SW

       

Vented pressure sensor

Compact, yet intelligent sensor for measuring pressure conditions, based on measuring the hydrostatic pressure and water temperature in a fixed submerged position. The pressure transducer is vented to facilitate automatic correction for atmospheric pressure fluctuations.The sensor is designed for use on Aanderaa Dataloggers as well as other measuring systems. It is based on a silicon piezoresistive bridge sampled and temperature compensated by an advanced DSP.

A compensating unit and an air-pipe cable between the compensating unit and the sensor is also needed. Inside this cable there is a tube that transports the air pressure down to the back side of the transducer. By subtracting this air-pressure from the water pressure measured on the front side of the transducer it will calculate and present the absolute pressure.

Since all calibration and temperature compensation data is stored internally, the pressure and temperature can be presented directly in engineering units without external calculation. The sensor complies with the AiCap interface using XML format messages.

3 different depth ranges and a variety of cables are available.

The new in-line ZPulse DCS has been designed in order to easily integrate into systems offering a compact and elegant solution.  It is based on a modified version of the ZPulse Doppler Current Sensor 4420. The unit connects to a combined mooring and signal cable in one end and allow for connection of a continuation cable at the opposite end. It can hold a load of up to 1300 kg. It has been developed to replace the previous Aanderaa DCS 4100 using newer technology and extending capabilities.

The tide measurement is an average of the hydrostatic pressure measured over a time periode of 10 seconds to 8 minutes (integration time configurable by the user). The update interval is between 1 second and 255 minutes.

The wave meassurements are based on the pressure time series measured over a time periode of 64 seconds to 17 minutes (configurable by the user). The update interval is between 1 second and 255 minutes.

A compensating unit and an air-pipe cable between the compensating unit and the sensor is also needed. Inside this cable there is a tube that transports the air pressure down to the back side of the transducer. By subtracting this air-pressure from the water pressure measured on the front side of the transducer it will calculate and present the absolute pressure.

Since all calibration and temperature compensation data is stored internally the pressure, tide and temperature can be presented directly in engineering units without external calculation. The sensor complies with the AiCap interface using XML format messages.

3 different depth ranges and a variety of cables are available.

A compact, yet intelligent sensor designed for use on Aanderaa Dataloggers as well as other measuring systems. It is based on a silicon piezoresistive bridge sampled and temperature compensated by an advanced DSP.

The tide measurement is an average of the hydrostatic pressure measured over a time periode of 10 seconds to 8 minutes (integration time configurable by the user). The update interval is between 1 second and 255 minutes.

Since all calibration and temperature compensation data is stored internally, the pressure, tide and temperature can be presented directly in engineering units without external calculation. The sensor complies with the AiCap interface using XML format messages.

Standard outputs:

  • AiCaP, used with SeaGuard and SmartGuard

It has been developed to replace the previous Aanderaa DCS 4100 using newer technology and extending capabilities.

Max total cable length for AiCaP is 300 meter.
